South African Travel Highlights
Cape Town & Surrounds
There's a reason Jonas Sandström chose Cape Town as his 'home'. It's got a lot to do with its diversity—in its people, cultures, and experiences. From the historic and colourful charm of the Bo-Kaap neighborhood, to the buzzing foodie scene and eclectic mix of old and new.
Organic Markets
The organic market scene is bursting with veggies, artisanal delights, food trucks and creative local entrepreneurs - and it's not just happening in Cape Town! We know where the best spots are as Jonas and the team have spent many a Saturdays meandering through markets and supporting the 'local is lekker' movement.
Big 5 Safaris
From the Big 5, the Ugly 5 and the marine Big 5, South Africa is the home of 'safari'. It is also one of the few places in Africa where you can go on a malaria-free safari. There are various options on how you can experience the 'bush' with typical game viewing vehicles, walking safaris, water-based safaris and conservationist-focused safaris on offer.
Cape Winelands
If you had to visit one wine farm every day in the Cape Winelands, you'd be here for over a year. This region is a wine lovers absolute dream, and one of the many things that South Africa has perfected, is the art of a wine tasting and wine pairing experiences. From families with children to solo travellers, the Cape Winelands is a must-see!
Whale Watching
Just over an hour outside of Cape Town you will find the town of Hermanus with its towering mountain peaks cradling the bay where Southern Right Whales frolic with their calves. The displays are magnificient, but what few international travellers know, is that it's not the only place for a spot of whale watching!
Golf Tours
There's a reason South Africa produces some of the best golfers. It's got a lot to do with the sheer number of world-class championship courses in each of the provinces. The Garden Route is considered the 'mecca' for golfers but even if you're flying in Johannesburg, there are so many courses worthy of a place on your must-play list.
